Boc-NH-PEG4-ACA, also known as Boc-NH-PEG4-Acrylamide, is a linear, heterobifunctional PEG derivative. It features a tert-butyloxycarbonyl (Boc) protected amine group at one end and an acrylamide (ACA) group at the other end, connected by a PEG spacer consisting of four ethylene oxide units. The Boc group provides a protected amine that can be deprotected under mild acidic conditions to reveal a primary amine for further conjugation. The acrylamide group is reactive towards thiol groups via Michael addition, allowing for the creation of stable thioether bonds.
